林语堂（1985—1976），中国现代著名作家、学者、翻译家、语言学家。上海圣约翰大学学士，德国莱比锡大学语言学博士。曾任教于清华大学、北京大学、厦门大学。曾任联合国教科文组织美术与文学主任、国际笔会副会长等职。以写作和翻译的形式向英语世界介绍中国文化，在英语世界影响深远
