本书是国家澜湄合作第二批项目清单中，澜湄沿岸国家轨道交通技能人才培训项目成果之一，是轨道交通设备维护来华培训人员用教材。澜湄合作是中国、柬埔寨、老挝、缅甸、泰国、越南6国共同主导、携手推动的区域合作机制，本书是此合作背景下，由贵州省承担的6个项目之一成果。全书分为11章：铁路运输系统中的车站信号控制系统，电气化铁路相关设备、结构、功能，铁路信号自动控制，车载信号系统及灯光控制，基础铁路线路维护，钢轨焊接系统，铁路修理工具维护，铁路运输系统机械制图，车轮与悬挂系统，制动系统，电力机车控制系统等。
