　　吉狄马加是中国当代少数民族的代表性诗人，同时也是一位具有国际视野、人类意识、产生广泛国际影响的诗人，其散文和演讲，一如其诗歌作品，具有浓郁的抒情气质、深挚而柔美的语言和毋庸置疑的审美价值。

　　本书译者主张回到晚清民初严复、林语堂、辜鸿铭开创的雅译传统，摈弃时下流行的所谓“忠实通顺”。雅一字不变应万变，不仅以雅译雅，以雅易达，在充分满足现代英语高阶写作句法复杂性、词法复杂性及英文修辞诸项技术指标前提下，在和原作内在神韵高度契合时工而入逸，开启写作模式，*后产出为高端英语读者喜闻乐见的文。

作者简介

　　吉狄马加，彝族，著名诗人、作家、书法家。1961年生于四川大凉山。1982年毕业于西南民族大学中文系。曾任中国作家协会书记处书记、青海省副省长，现任青海省委常委、宣传部长，并兼任中国少数民族作家学会会长，中国诗歌学会顾问。他是中国当代著名的少数民族代表性诗人，同时也是一位具有广泛影响的国际性诗人，已在国内外出版诗集二十余种。
