格雷姆·波尔特，西班牙格拉纳达大学教授，兼任剑桥大学出版社《语言教学》杂志编辑。2009年，应当时的美国应用语言学协会（AAAL）主席杰弗里·康纳-林顿之邀，格雷姆·波尔特在协会当年的年会上发起了针对复制性研究的专题研讨，那次研讨会上提交的论文构成了本书的主体。他的研究方向包括一语中的磨蚀现象和人的感知对二语习得的影响。他曾在国际期刊上发表过多篇论文，其2010年出版的《二语学习研究评价》被全球70多门应用语言学博士课程使用，并于当年再版。时至今日，波尔特仍然是复制性研究的大力倡导者。
